Whitney started playing water polo at 11 years old, after speed swimming for 6 years. Her older sister Leslie played at the same pool as she swam. She became more and more curious about how much fun it would be to be swimming with a ball instead of just in between two lane ropes.
Coming up through the Regina Club system, Whitney played for Canada at the 2005 Junior World Championships and debuted with the senior team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Most recently, Whitney helped her team to a silver medal at the 2009 FINA World Aquatic Championships.
Her future goals include playing in the 2012 Olympics in London, and graduating from McGill in Materials Engineering
